Roger Williams Park Zoo - Itsy Bitsy Empire

June 15- September 30, 2002

Well, they didn't hire my flea circus to perform (not sure why-- it seems like it would fit in PERFECTLY with the theme material) But it's still a pretty good exhibit. This exhibit is billed as one of the most extensive collections of insect of any zoo in the country. (Not sure about that-- but the Smithsonian's Orkin Insect Zoo is pretty amazing! (Of course it's not in Providence either!)

There are four exhibits throughout the zoo, and each exhibit area focuses on one particular characteristic, each represented by a “popular periodical” of the ITSY BITSY EMPIRE:
• Better Webs & Gardens” (habitat)
• Arthropolitan” (legs, appendages and adaptations)
• Bug Appetit” (food)
• Grubweek” (news-worthy invertebrates with a “special story”)

It's definitely worth checking out!
