The Library system in Rhode Island is setup so that all the state libraries are connected through the CLAN system (Cooperating Libraries Automated Network)

The Barrington Public Library has an online form so that you can ask them to purchase a book. (and then hold it for you.) This is a really useful way to get books that you want to read but not own, and that might be VERY expensive.
