50 Years of Everest

50 years ago TODAY, Sir Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa guide Tenzing Norgay attained the unattainable-- they climbed the highest mountain ever. (Well, actually, Everest :o) )


They braved countless privations, they endured unbelievable hardship, and they managed to succeed where no one else had ever succeeded before. And, according to legend, they did it "Because it was there."
